DINNER FOR TWO is a playful cinematic restaurant film created for RA-FT Café in Kuala Lumpur. Instead of presenting the restaurant through a conventional menu showcase, the film follows an unconventional dinner date — one guest, one cap, and an evening of pizza, pasta and tiramisu. The story uses humour, quiet character moments and food-led visuals to make the dining experience feel personal, memorable and naturally shareable. Built for social media, the film combines restaurant atmosphere, food cinematography and a simple narrative hook to turn an ordinary meal into a small brand story.

Concept

A dinner date where the second guest happens to be a cap.

Brand objective

Create a memorable social-first restaurant film that introduces RA-FT Café through personality and experience, rather than relying on a standard food or menu advertisement.

Creative direction

The visual direction was built around a quiet, slightly playful dinner-for-two concept. Natural window light, intimate table compositions, food close-ups and restrained camera movement were used to keep the film cinematic while allowing the cap to function as the story’s unexpected second character. The pacing gradually moves from observational restaurant moments into a humorous reveal, giving the film a clear hook without losing the warm dining atmosphere.

Client challenge

The challenge was to create a restaurant reel that felt distinctive and entertaining without becoming overly promotional.

My role & key decisions

Concept Development · Creative Direction · Videography · Food Cinematography · Editing · Colour Treatment I developed the core narrative concept, structured the film around the cap as a recurring visual character, selected the table and food moments that supported the story, and shaped the edit to balance humour with cinematic restaurant imagery.
