DON’T FORGET YOUR CAP is a short narrative film built around a simple everyday object and one small decision: turning back for something that matters. The film follows a character leaving a café, realising the cap has been left behind, and returning for it. Instead of treating the cap as a product in a conventional commercial format, the story gives it emotional weight through movement, pacing and repetition. The result is a quiet lifestyle piece that blends character, object and atmosphere into a memorable short-form brand story.

Brand objective
Explore how a simple lifestyle object can be given emotional value through short-form storytelling, creating a brand film that feels human, relatable and memorable rather than purely promotional.
Creative direction
The visual direction was built around natural movement, observational framing and everyday environments. Running shots, doorway moments, café interiors and still-life details were used to create a small narrative arc around absence, realisation and return. The cap functions as the visual anchor throughout the film, while the pacing gradually shifts from movement to stillness to reinforce the emotional payoff.
Client challenge
The challenge was to make a very simple object and everyday action feel cinematic without relying on dialogue, elaborate locations or complex production design. The story had to remain visually clear and emotionally understandable within a short runtime.
My role & key decisions
Concept Development · Creative Direction · Videography · Editing · Visual Storytelling I developed the story around the cap as a recurring visual object, structured the sequence to move from departure to return, and selected simple real-world locations to keep the film grounded and believable. The key creative decision was to avoid a direct product-advertising approach and instead let the object gain meaning through the character’s actions.
